시놉시스 Synopsis
돈밖에 모르는 부모 밑에서 어린나이에 궂은일을 도맡던 아홉 살 열찬은 원양어선에 태워 멸치똥이나 따게 하자는 부모의 얘기를 엿듣고 자신의 미래가 암담하다는 것을 깨닫게 된다. 그 후 바로 집을 나와 거리에서 생활하기 시작하는데 변화의 물결로 가득한 거리에도 어린 아이를 위한 일자리나 쉴 곳이라고는 보이질 않는다. 그럼에도 타고난 긍정적 성격으로 어찌어찌 살아가던 열찬의 인생은 의열단원의 연설을 듣고 새로운 전환점을 맞이하게 되는데…
우연히 거리에 버려진 커다란 양인형 ‘세바스찬’을 형제 삼아 꿋꿋하게 살아가는 열찬의 삶은 탄생의 목적부터 마지막까지 불쌍하기만 하다.
가브로슈 Gavroche
입과손스튜디오 <판소리 레미제라블 토막소리 시리즈3. 가브로슈>는 프랑스를 배경으로 쓰인 원작 <레미제라블>의 등장인물 ‘가브로슈’를 한국의 개화기 속 인물 ‘가열찬’으로 각색했다. 노동자 계급의 불안한 삶과 부당한 사회 처우에 대한 이야기를 개항으로 인해 사회질서가 복잡해지고 민중의 삶이 피폐했던 때의 이야기로 재구성했다. 원작에 혁명봉기자들의 시민혁명은 강대국들의 이권 다툼 속에서 자주적인 조선을 이루고자 했던 의병의 이야기로 가져왔다.

Synopsis
Ga Yeol-Chan, a nine-year-old boy, has worked all kinds of hard work under greedy parents. One day, he realizes that there is no hope in his future after overhearing his parent’s talk about sending him to a deep-sea fishing vessel. After that, he starts to live in the street out of the home. The road is full of new dreams from abroad, but there is no shelter nor work for children. Nevertheless, he manages his living through his positive energy. One day, his life faces a new turning point after listening to a speech of the Righteous Army. After he comes across the large sheep doll abandoned in the street, he gives it the name Sebastian and lives together like a family. From the purpose of birth to last, his persistence for life seems piteous.
Gavroche
Ipkoason adapted the character Gavroche in Victor Hugo’s novel into the boy called Ga Yeol-Chan lives in the early 1900s in Korea. This adaptation brings us to the period when social norms change unpredictably after opening ports to foreign countries. The insecure life of laborers and social injustices in the original novel goes on at that age. In the fight for benefits among world powers, the Righteous Army tries to bring freedom like the civil revolutionaries in Les Miserables.
